Forget about the code card!

Everyday finances ・ 01.08.2018

From 2019, it will no longer be possible to log in to the Internet bank and mobile bank of Coop Pank with a code card. Code cards will be removed from use as they are not considered secure enough according to the new rules applicable in Europe.

Similarly to Coop Pank, it will no longer be possible to use code cards in other Estonian banks either. The popularity of code cards has decreased considerably in recent years: only about 10% of Coop Pank’s clients still use these cards.

We want to make the transfer to new means of authentication as smooth as possible, so we’re already inviting all code card users to switch to more secure means of authentication instead: ID-card, Smart-ID or Mobile-ID, in order to register which the client must have an Estonian ID-card. If you do not have an Estonian ID-card, you can use a bank ID-card, which will be issued in a branch office.

Start using a secure means of authentication before 1 November and you can win one of three JURA coffee machines. All clients who have previously only used a code card to log in to the Internet or mobile bank will be entered in the prize draw.

We apologise to our clients for the possible inconvenience and try to help you in any way we can in order to make the transfer to more secure means of authentication go smoothly. If you have any questions, please contact us by visiting our office, sending an e-mail to klienditugi@cooppank.ee or calling us on 669 0966.
