Coop Pank Opens a new office in Valga

14.04.2025

The Estonian Coop Pank is opening a new office in the heart of Valga, located in the same building as the Valga Museum at Vabaduse 8. The official opening will take place on Wednesday, April 23, from 11:00 to 16:00. All local residents are warmly invited to come meet the bank team and enjoy coffee and cake.

The Coop Pank office in Valga will be open on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11:00 to 16:00.

Monika Rogenbaum, Mayor of Valga Municipality, emphasized that the presence of a bank office is a big deal for the residents of both Valga and the entire county. “When SEB announced the closure of its branch, it came as a major shock to our community, as it was the last remaining bank office in the region,” Rogenbaum stated.

“We understand that many banking services have moved online, but local residents still need face-to-face interaction with the bank, as well as guidance and support for their banking needs. We are pleased that the Estonian Coop Pank accepted our offer and is opening an office in Valga, which will be accessible every first and third Wednesday of the month from 11:00 to 16:00,” Rogenbaum added.

Karel Parve, Head of Retail Banking at Coop Pank, noted that although all banking operations can be carried out conveniently through Coop Pank’s internet bank and mobile app, the bank also values human connection.

“Feedback from customers shows that it’s important for people to have a bank nearby. Thanks to great cooperation with Valga Municipality, we are now able to offer this to residents of Valga County,” said Parve.

“All residents of Valga and the surrounding county are welcome to visit the Coop Pank office during its opening hours—no prior booking is necessary,” Parve added.

At the Valga Coop Pank office, customers can carry out all standard banking services. These include opening personal and business accounts, ordering and activating bank cards, opening fixed-term deposits or Rahasahtel savings accounts, setting up standing orders, managing Säästukaart Pluss services, and completing identity verification. In addition, tellers are available to provide comprehensive advice and assistance on all banking matters, including loans.

With the addition of the Valga office, Coop Pank now operates 16 branches in 13 Estonian cities. Coop Pank has the largest cash transaction network in Estonia.

Coop Pank’s private customers can deposit up to €1,000 per day and a total of €2,000 per month into their account free of charge at Coop store checkouts. Business customers can deposit up to €1,000 per day and up to €4,000 per month free of charge at Coop store checkouts.

Private customers of Coop Pank can also withdraw cash free of charge not only from Coop store checkouts but from all ATMs, regardless of the brand displayed on the ATM. Additionally, businesses using Coop Pank can withdraw cash from any ATM by paying a low fixed service fee (€2), rather than a percentage of the transaction amount, as is common with many other banks.

Cash transactions can also be performed at six Coop Pank branches: the Ülikooli Street branch in Tartu, and branches in Võru, Rakvere, Narva, Pärnu, and the Magistrali branch in Tallinn.

Coop Pank's customer support phone number is 6690 966 (Mon–Fri 8:30–19:00).
