Coop Pank to close banking points and open branch on Hiiumaa

25.10.2024

As of 1 November, Coop Pank will be closing its five remaining banking points due to the low number of transactions being performed at them, instead increasing its regular presence in Coop stores and on Hiiumaa.

The banking points at Laagri Maksimarket, Rapla Jaama Konsum, Hiiumaa Tormi Konsum, Jõgeva Konsum and Paide Maksimarket, at which clients have been able to perform a limited number of transactions on their own, are set to close. Helle Luks, the head of Coop Pank’s sales network, says all banking points have seen a very low number of transactions in recent months, most of which have involved personal identification, the signing of agreements and the lodging of applications. “All of those things can continue to be done at our branches around Estonia,” she noted. “Plus, for most of them, our clients can use our Internet bank and mobile app as well.”

Luks says that in parallel with the closure of the underused banking points, Coop Pank will be increasing the regular presence of its specialists in Coop stores around the country so as to provide clients with direct and immediate advice on banking issues. “Based on feedback, we know that face-to-face contact with bank staff is important to people all over Estonia,” she said. “That’s why we will be sending our specialists out into the field even more to meet with and advise new and existing clients in Coop stores up and down the country.”

Coop Pank’s 14 branches will continue to operate five days a week in 11 towns and cities around Estonia. Moreover, starting from 1 November a new branch will be operating on the first Friday of every month on the Coop Hiiumaa premises next to Tormi Konsum in Kärdla.

Coop Pank boasts the largest cash network of any bank in Estonia, enabling cash transactions at six branches: Magistral (Tallinn), Ülikooli Street (Tartu), Rakvere, Narva, Võru and Pärnu. In addition, private clients can continue to deposit up to 1000 euros per day and a total of 2000 euros per month in their accounts at any Coop store free of charge, while business clients can deposit up to 1000 euros per day and a total of 4000 euros per month in the same manner, also free of charge. Private clients can also withdraw cash free of charge from any ATM, regardless of the bank it belongs to or whose logo it bears, and from any Coop store.

Coop Pank’s customer service is available by calling 669 0966 from 8:30-19:00 Monday-Friday.
